Itinerary
January 24 – February 3, 2026
NOTE: Itineraries may change slightly as details and logistics are finalized.

International arrival into the Jomo Kenyatta Nairobi Airport. After a short ride to the Emara Hotel, settle in and enjoy a rooftop view of the Nairobi National Park.

After spending time with rescued baby elephants (some just a few months old!) at David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage and hand feeding Rothschild Giraffes at the Giraffe Center, we will take a tour through downtown Nairobi to learn about the economy, government, and city life.

Step into the Oasis of Hope at Ruben Centre, a bustling campus within an informal settlement in the heart of Nairobi. After meeting the learners, and a guided tour through the surrounding community, we will spend some focused time within areas of your choice where you will connect with the children and programs as we learn firsthand the impact of Ruben Centre, and its partnership with Brighton Jones. Following an immersive day at the Centre, we will enjoy dinner with the leadership team of Ruben Centre to get to know their community-building approaches.

On our third full day in Nairobi, we will tour local jewelry factory Kazuri (small and beautiful in Swahili) Beads. Kazuri Beads’ mission is to provide and sustain employment opportunity for disadvantaged Kenyans, especially single mothers. After learning traditional bead and pottery practices from these incredible women, we will end our day with a group dinner and reflect on all the adventures of these first days in Kenya.

Watch the landscape change from city to savannah on our 2 hour ride from Nairobi to Kajiado. We will spend the day with strong young Maasai women who are braving a new approach to their life and future. Meet the visionary founder of Humanitarian Efforts for the Learning of the Girl Child in Africa, Priscilla, and hear her story of being called into a life of service for young women in Maasailand. After this fun day together with the HELGA students, we will settle into the Brighton Jones Guest House and enjoy a traditional Kenyan meal prepared by our chef.

We will spend the day diving into the work and services of KCC’s care with the children and community of Kajiado. We’ll enjoy a Kenyan meal with the leadership of KCC to understand more on their approach, vision, and partnership with Brighton Jones. A short domestic flight will transport us into the Masai Mara to settle in our luxury tents at Little Governor’s Camp to begin our safari.

Enjoy Kenya’s wildlife and vast landscape within Little Governor’s Camp for a few days of animals, reflection, and beauty. Meet Wilson, a Maasai Warrior, and learn of the respectful Maasai culture of gentle strength and quiet bravery. You have the option to go on a sunrise Hot Air Balloon Safari where you get a unique and peaceful viewpoint and end with a champagne bush breakfast!

Settle into our luxury beach hotel on Manda Island in Lamu with access to the Indian Ocean, private pools and delicious Swahili cuisine. Optional activities include a day trip to the town of Lamu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the oldest and best-reserved Swahili settlement in East Africa, or visit a mangrove reforestation program run by Eden Reforestation to learn about conservation and climate solutions. We will end our beach trip with a group sunset dhow (boat) cruise to connect as a group and reflect on our incredible journey together.

After a full and final last day together, we will take late night departures from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to return home full of new learnings, understandings, and reflections.
