Los Angeles Disaster Relief Fund
The most destructive wildfires in Los Angeles’s history are burning across the region. As of Thursday, January 9th, thousands of structures have burned and at least 200,000 residents are under evacuation orders. At least five individuals have been killed and the fires are continuing to grow. 100% of donations collected in this Fund will be distributed to organizations providing immediate disaster relief services and long-term support to evacuees and first responders, including:
Direct Relief has activated emergency response protocols to address the five active wildfires, and is currently deploying medical aid, including emergency medical supplies for first responders and displaced residents, and respiratory protection equipment to mitigate health risks from smoke exposure.
Los Angeles Regional Food Bank has activated emergency response protocols, supporting both evacuees and firefighters. It is working with government agencies, nonprofit and faith-based partners, and community leaders to respond to the fires throughout Los Angeles County.
Pasadena Community Foundation is working with city leaders and local organizations to fund the most pressing needs. They have launched the Eaton Canyon Fire Relief and Recovery Fund to channel support to locally-led nonprofits providing critical support, even as the fire continues to spread.
Pasadena Humane, has already taken in more than 300 animals, and have staff and volunteers working nonstop to help with their care. These animals are being treated in their ICU, being provided with pain medications, wound care, fluid, and oxygen as needed.
